A tear in a conveyor belt can be a big problem. It can cause a lot of damage. Our longitudinal tear detector finds tears early. It is installed under the loading point. When material falls through a tear, it hits the sensor. This stops the belt right away. It uses a sensing trough or plate. It senses the pressure of the falling material. It has two sets of contacts. One for the alarm. One for stopping the belt. It should be installed 3 to 5 meters after the loading point. The sensing part is made from special wear-resistant rubber or stainless steel.
